The third annual Australian Business Auto & NRMA BusinessWise Industry Drive Day was run on May 18th 2010. at Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush, NSW.
The event has found a new and improved home at Sydney Olympic Park after previously being held at Eastern Creek; despite the wet conditions all attendees seemed very happy with the event in its new home.
The day showcased the best and brightest offerings from the Business Vehicle market in Australia. Guests spoke directly to manufacturer and supplier representatives on site, and were also given the opportunity to jump behind the wheel and experience the vehicles over a range of different driving activities and courses. In 2010 there were 13 exhibiting manufacturers and over 150 of their brand new vehicles available to experience. This meant that through the course of the day a guest will take cars and light commercial vehicles around a specially designed Closed Road circuit, negotiate a custom made 4x4 course in a brand new SUV, and also discover the safety features of modern vehicles in a controlled Skid Pan environment.
Although the driving activities are a key component of the overall experience, it is important to note that the event was more than just a fun day of driving.
Education, Safety and Business opportunities are all core elements of the program of the event. In an action packed day, guests also found out about:
• New vehicles in the marketplace
• The continually evolving world of vehicle safety features
• Their obligations when considering “The Vehicle as a Workplace”
• OH&S issues for vehicle drivers
• New services and products that manage and reduce vehicle related costs
Audi was well represented with Q7, TTRS and A5 Sportback on display in the Badgerys Pavilion and 3.0TDI A5 Sportback and A4 on the Skid Pan and the Q7 and Q5 on the 4x4 track.
